Karl Beattie
Karl Beattie is the husband of Yvette Fielding, the main presenter of LivingTV's 'Most Haunted'. Together they also own and run 'Antix', the Most Haunted production company.
Beattie claims to be "the only living Samurai outside of Japan and one of only eight people in the world outside of Japan to be awarded a Samaraiship in the history of the warrior class."

From an interview in the Stockport Express newspaper it appears Beattie has the ability to transform, at will, into Walter Mitty....

After searching the various sites and forums it seems nobody in the martial arts world as heard of "Tiji Fukura" and Beatties claims are, to say the least, "annoying people...."
Unbeaten in his 78 official fights, Karl holds an impressive record of 78 wins and 68 knock-outs and is the only person to take the world title out of Japan.

I had to be adopted into his family to get the Samuraiship, and to have that honour bestowed upon me was the ultimate achievement for me.
The Office of the Imperial Household has told The Japan Times that it has no practice or system of granting such titles.
He added: My links with Japan are something that Ive been living with for most of life. Its sort of second nature for me.
In history the Samurai is there to protect the Japanese emperor from any wrong doing from any attacking forces.
The samurai class has been abolished since beginning of the Meiji era (1868) in Japanese history.
If anything was to happen in Japan, aside from being at war with Britain, then I would have to drop everything and go and protect the emperor.
Karl had been in talks with Tom Cruises production company concerning their feature film, but he had to turn down the opportunity of working with the Hollywood blockbuster because he was already committed to Living TVs Most Haunted show.

In an attempt to put the record straight. Karl Beattie started training in my Cranleigh Wadoryu Karate Dojo (early 80's) as a 'white belt', and left my Dojo as a 'brown belt' two years later. He did not attain his 4th Dan from us, or from any other 'official' Wadoryu group that I am aware of.
